SafeHer Crewe Launches to Champion Safety for Women and Girls

In August, we proudly launched SafeHer Crewe, a community-led initiative developed in partnership with Her-Place Charitable Trust, Crewe BID, and Crewe Town Council. The programme is designed to enhance safety for women and girls in and around Crewe Station and Nantwich Road, reinforcing our commitment to creating inclusive, supportive environments across the rail network.

The launch event at Crewe Station brought together local partners including Samaritans, Railway Children, and Cheshire East Domestic Abuse Services, offering public engagement and sharing vital safety resources.

SafeHer Crewe introduces:

  • Clearly marked Safe Spaces with trained staff

  • Specialist safeguarding training for station colleagues

  • A new Safeguarding Information Hub inside Crewe Station, providing discreet access to support services

Looking ahead, SafeHer Crewe will expand across the town and serve as a blueprint for a wider safeguarding model across our network, transforming stations into trusted community hubs where safety and support are always within reach.
