London Euston Cultural Event: Standing Firm in Power and Pride
We were proud to welcome the return of the London Euston Cultural Event, which came back bigger, bolder, and more influential than ever. With the theme “Standing Firm in Power and Pride,” the event honoured the resilience, identity, and achievements of Black communities, while creating space for reflection, celebration, and collaboration.
This year’s event featured inspiring contributions from special guests including Kelle Bryan, Loose Women panellist, former Eternal singer, actress, and Lupus advocate and, Leon Berry, a renowned motivational speaker who shared powerful insights on mental health and lived experience within the Black community.
The day was filled with energy and purpose, featuring standout moments like keynote speeches from Andy Mellors, Managing Director of Avanti West Coast, and the leads of the Race and Ethnicity Committee. Attendees were deeply moved by Kelle Bryan’s powerful account of her journey with Lupus and Leon Berry’s heartfelt message on the importance of self-care and mental health.
Returning for a third year, Super Caribbean Catering kicked off the event with a soulful prayer and served up delicious food.
The event also featured a vibrant marketplace, lively karaoke sessions, and a thrilling raffle prize draw.
Patricia, an onboard Customer Service Assistant based at London Euston, shared:“Each year this event gets bigger and better. Being part of the Race and Ethnicity Network and helping bring it to life is amazing! It's all about coming together to celebrate our culture, enjoy great food, and have a dance!”
The event was a true celebration of culture, connection, and community, bringing together colleagues, partners, and guests to stand proudly in solidarity and support.
