Applications are Open for our Customer and Communities Improvement Fund

We’re excited to announce the latest round of our Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF) – designed to support projects that make a positive difference along the West Coast Main Line.

Through CCIF, we aim to:

Make stations more vibrant and add value to local areas

Improve access to rail for vulnerable or hard-to-reach communities

Bring people together to create stronger connections and opportunities

We’ve supported projects that make rail travel more inclusive and enhance local environments. Recent initiatives include travel confidence workshops with Liverpool and Sefton Mencap, helping adults feel more comfortable using trains; funding Tramper mobility vehicles to improve access to the Cumbrian countryside and heritage sites; and creating a “green route” in Manchester by installing planters along the A6, supporting biodiversity and brightening a busy urban area.

If you have an idea that can make a real impact within three miles of one of our stations, we’d love to hear from you. Projects should also consider the UN Sustainable Development Goals, helping us build inclusive, connected, and sustainable communities.
