Timetable update for Avanti West Coast services

On Monday 6 July, to enable social distancing and keep our services safe, we increased our timetable from 6 to 8 trains per hour to and from London. The two extra services will be on the Manchester and Birmingham routes, both returning to their usual three trains per hour. We will also be running an increased number of services between Holyhead and Crewe where connections can be made to or from London. Timetables are being updated more frequently than usual at this time, so please check your journey before you travel on this link

Avanti Safe Travels Pledge

As Britain starts to open back up for business, we're creating more space on our trains and enhancing cleaning measures so that everyone can travel safely. In keeping with industry colleagues, Avanti has published a Safe Travels Pledge which outlines the extra steps we're taking so that people can travel by train with confidence. Getting the message across

It's now mandatory to wear a face covering on public transport in England and Scotland, and strongly recommended in Wales. To help drive home this important message and encourage compliance, Avanti West Coast has wrapped the front of two Pendolino trains with face coverings. We do of course respect the fact that some people may not be able to wear a face covering, for example children under 11, people with breathing difficulties and people whose disabilities make it difficult for them to wear a face covering. Introduction of the Disabilities Sunflower Scheme

We have introduced an initiative for customers to discreetly indicate they have a hidden disability while travelling. Avanti has partnered with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme so customers with hidden disabilities can now obtain lanyards, wristbands or wallet cards with a recognisable sunflower logo. Staff have been briefed to watch out for the sunflower and offer extra help, time or assistance as required. Read more about our introduction of the Disabilities Sunflower Scheme here
